I saw that and was gonna ask you. So you made the brakets and bought the rod?

I don't have any pictures, but I made one from a large spring a piece of flat steel and some J- bolts and a piece of angle iron. That's what I have on my 1200. I put it on when I repainted it and had the fender off. If your mechanically inclined it's not that hard to build.

I had the sheetmetal guy at work make the rod for me. He was so frustrated getting all the bends done freehand he told me no more.

It's an inexpensive way to get a good spring if you can find the other pieces.

I'm voting for you to get an IH one. Simply easier than trying to make one. Just bolt it up and go. I didn't have one with my blade for the first year and I thought it would be fine...after two consecutive days of snow pushing my arm and shoulder were letting me know they were there. Winter 2014 I had one; thank goodness I did. With the IH one being under the tunnel if something breaks at least I've got welded steel in between flying parts and the gentleman's area.

If I didn't have a friend that is a metal worker I would have passed. For $15 and having access to my buddies skills I'll at least give it a go. All else fails I'll just be heading over to Lews with another one of my pay checks
