New blower just in time for winter - Page 2

I think the brackets for the Supers were to lower the blower down. Without them, the blower supposedly wouldn't lower all the way down and sit higher. I, myself have never had a blower on a Super, so do not know firsthand.

That was my understanding as well, not that it needed them to raise up but that it needed them to get low enough to run leven on the ground. Then again, like you, I've never mounted one up before

I haven't used or saw any on a super either. I hope I don't get enough snow to require the use of one any way. The blade is much faster and I have the room and terrain to put all the snow that I've ever gotten in winter.

My wife purchased an 1863, in quite remarkably the same condition, with a 54" deck and some sort of homemade snow plow. The command CH18s has the same air cleaner on it. The tractor id number says it's a 1993 model. I don't know about the engine because the engine tag is unreadable.

She got it for a Lew price. No plastic (like yours), but it did run.... just didn't move. I guess the plastic just doesn't take to being used for bulldozing trees?

Just mounted a 451 to my 2082 yesterday for the first time, I did put the lowering brackets on along with the longer 3 hole lift arms, it was the only way I got the blower to drop all the way to the pavement and sit at the proper angle. Waiting for it to snow today so I can try it out. I did run it through a pile of dry leaves and was able to blow them over the neighbors fence, if it only works that well on snow....

I don't suppose you could snap the same picture, only from the other side of the blower, could ya? Something I want to see/compare

That is perfect, thank you!! I wanted to see your idler spring/spring tension. I was messing around with mine last night and wasn't 100% sure how it was supposed to look. The manual can only tell you so much

I'm going to like the belt tension system on this blower so much more than the system on the QA's, I can already tell

I'm not 100% sure that is the correct spring and I don't think I have the correct belt on it. I used the belt that came with the blower but seems a little short and I had to stretch the hell out of the spring to reach the adjuster arm. The blower didn't come off a super and putting the extension brackets on has increased the necessary belt length needed. I thought I could get away with it because my 2082 has the small PTO pulley on it. I think I have the right belt hanging in the shop, just don't feel like wrestling with it anymore today.
