New 3 pin driver doesn't fit the drive cup
Well if it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any! The new 3pin driver from Xtreme doesn't fit the drive cup!! I tore into it tonight (glad I shortened the engine cradle) is removed the bearing from the flywheel like your supposed to tried to install the driver and no go! The dia of the bearing is 1.5 and the hub on the driver measures 1.6 so I'm going to contact Xtreme and see what we can do. Here's a picture.

Well that sucks. Take a look at the driver that Yosemite Sam makes or Mid West Super Cub

Brian, I just went out and measured the hub on the 3 pin driver that I took out of my 1200 and yup, 1 1/2". Aside from having to cut the excess thread off of the drive pins, the new 6 pin driver I got from ZK fit right into the drive hub. Maybe XM has models for different applications? Couldn't find the driver on their site.

What tractor are we working on here?
The top piece in your picture looks to be part of the flex plate 3 pin driver from a 1000 or a 1200 Quiet Line Cub. |

Did you cut off the ears where the snubbers attached when you went to solid motor mounts?

One thing to keep in mind is that the factory 3 pin driver allowed for the flex in the driveline with the rubber engine mounts if you go to a solid 3 pin driver you will need to replace the engine mounts with the solid type like those that Jeff in PA sells.

Pretty sure he already switched to the solid mounts.
Brian, I didn't look, but the drive cup might be different on the QL because of the flexbile driver. |

I contacted Xtreme and he said his machinist really dropped the ball on this one. He's sending me a new driver, all I have to do is put the pins off this one and put them on the one he's sending. He was very apologetic. Told me to keep the driver that won't fit. New one will be shipped in the morning. Yes I have the solid mounts from Jeff.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
