An IH 782 is worth way more than a CCC 782 IMO. I'd consider buying an IH 782 but wouldn't give two thoughts about a CCC.

Good luck @ the auction and better luck healing. Don't let your enthusiasm over shadow common sense in bidding. As far as I'm concerned, nothing wrong with a 782, IH or CCC, I have both they don't make them like that anymore! |

To me an IH machine may be worth a few bucks more just because I have a few antique IH tractors, its certainly no better than a MTD model. A Series II engine would mean a little more cash to me as well.

I think I can see the International on the dash. I know it's not a sure
sign of if it's genuine IH or not but most I've seen with that were IH built. Serial number is only sure way

Got to auction too late!! The 782 went for $325 but was one of the first to go! My neighbor was interested as well and told me he wanted it but they started on the opposite end as they usually do and he missed it as well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
