Default Paint gun question

First off,i have small 3 gallon compressor, which I assume I can use? Also if I buy a paint gun, do I get a siphon feed or gravity feed gun?
Thanks

I doubt it. Takes a lot of CFM to run a paint gun.

gravity feed is much better but your compressor is way to small, even the cheapo guns from harbor freight require at least 12cfm.

What you can do is if you have a portable air tank is pipe it would into your 3gal compressor to give you more volume of air. Your compressor will run a lot and your may need to stop and let it catch up but that's all I did when I painted my cub.

When I restored my Wheel Horse I used a siphon paint gun. i used an 11 gallon compressor, but I think it was too small, because it ran probably at least 3 times per 8 oz of paint. A 3 gallon is way too small.

Your compressor will never be able to keep up with any gun I have a lot of guns from Sata's to cheapos with a 80 Gallon 24.8 CFM compressor and it still runs a fair amount and the more your compressor runs the more moisture it will produce so it will be hard to keep it out of the paint. The modern guns are all HVLP it stands for high volume low pressure the name it self speaks for it self.

All I can tell you is I used a small 7 gal compressor and 10 gal air tank and painted my 1200. It ran a lot but did the job fine. I used a water filter to capture moisture. All I had was a cheapo harbor freight gun, works fine.

It will take a lot more yellow than one quart if you do it right.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
