Morning all,

I know this is usually directed at the ih cubs but i have a xt3 with the 60" deck and i was wondering if the bagger kit for the 54" deck will fit it, Or am i better off with a lawn sweeper? Im starting to get some thatch problems and every week it gets a little worse...

Thanks Matt

Matt it's difficult for me to say what would be best for you a bagger or sweeper. For me its a sweeper, I tried a bagger and it didn't work for me as I have 1 1/2 acers to cut each week and it would take forever cutting and dumping the bagger. I went to a sweeper and my cutting time was reduced.

Your dealer or the Cub Cadet web site would be the best place to find that info.
I have a bagger on my 54" deck on a GTX2154.

They plug up easily if the grass is the least bit damp or long. You need to keep the chute clean and smooth inside.

I have a 345 fan assisted bagger on my 3k and it works awesome. I also have a sweeper but have not used it since I put my FAB on.

I'm not sure there ever was a bagger for a 60" deck and if there was I'm thinking it would need the fan to blow all the grass back into the bags. Like the others have said, I would talk to your dealer or look at a Cyclone rake type attachment.

How has the XTS been working for you?

The tractor works great, havent found anything to use all the power for yet lol. Very pleased with the purchase. only have .6 acres but take are of my dads acre too. Grass just gets so tall in a week and it doesnt have the time to decompose. From the sounds of it a sweeper is going to be the way to go.

Thanks guys!

Matt

I like baggers. They are clean, easy to turn around and do an overall better job at picking up clippings. Lawn sweeps require speed and they aren't really set up to dump into a pick up. Plus the short tongue makes backing up quickly kinda tricky.

A 3pt mounted sweeper and a loader with a grapple would be an alright setup

LOL, I'd really like to have a mounted sweeper, but I'd have to build a high lift mast for my R Bucket, then steal said bucket from Nightow1, then I'd have to build him 1 to replace the one I took.

Wait, if I built a mast, I could just... Oooohhhh I have a plan! 😈

High lift mast--as in fork lift attachment?

No! Well, yea that too. If I convert my sweeper to 3pt mount, I would then be able to hook it to said mast and have the ability to dump it into a pickup or whatever.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
