Another 1650
Recently, I attended an estate sale and purchased another 1650. This tractor has set for over ten years. I took a chance and bought it. The other day I had some time and dragged it into the Cub House. I removed the carb and fuel tank to clean and inspect. Rebuilt carb, checked oil levels, cleaned battery posts and added some fuel and a fresh battery. I turned the key and to my surprise it cranked and fired immediately! I couldn't believe it. I cycled the hydraulic lift and the hydro transmission...it all worked very well with no smoke or odd noises. The engine was stuffed with varmint debris and blowing out all kinds of crap. So, I decided to pull the engine, remove the tins and removed fender deck to give it a bath. Here it is....
It needs new engine mounts, various driveline stuff, axle seals and new axle tube bearings.

Congrats on the new to you 1650.. looks like a pretty original well kept tractor! I have a soft spot for the quietlines.. I spent many hours on a 1450 as a kid! We still have it... It still provides weekly mowing duty for mom!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
