It's a crappy tractor. Cheap paint that's already filthy, battery needs charged, PTO actually does work, clutch PIN rattles because hole is ovaled out, wrong seat, pretty crap everywhere else.

Plus I'm (almost) not blatantly lying about the tractor's condition.

Person: "Yeah, it runs."
When it doesn't even turn over because it's locked up:
Person: "Oh, the battery must be dead."

Could be claiming it's a pulling tractor trying to make 1500$!
A half truth is a whole lie! The ENDS DO NOT JUSTIFY THE MEANS. You can justify your misrepresentation any way that you want, but that does not make it right. Honesty is not only the best policy, but for some it is the ONLY policy. The Golden Rule applies to all unequivocally. Many of us on here make the cubs better than when we got them and fully disclose anything that we know might be wrong with them so that when we give our handshake, it is our word that a fair deal has been done. When we lay our head on our pillow at night, we know that an honest man has rested for the day. This eye for an eye stuff, as people say, "It was done to me.....", makes the whole world blind! When we go to our grave, people will know us by our character and our integrity is part of our character. I will never put a price on my integrity, least of all for a few bucks!

It is your cub, and better yet it is your character. You do what you feel in your heart is right.

Wow, I think I need to get my sh## together. Nevertheless I still might let go of the 108 for 300$. I don't really care, just want a 104 or 124.

Don't try to rationalize it Mudrig. A little bit wrong is still wrong. At 14 years old you hopefully have a long life ahead of you. Learn from this and don't do this to people. Most youth your age could care less about advice from their elders. We'll see how you handle this. I'm just trying to steer you in the right direction.

Read the definition. Don't get hung up on the example.

You still haven't changed your Craigslist ad......

At this point the parts I need for that 108 probably cost more than the tractor did.
From CCS:

"IH Cub cadet Clutch Lever hanger assembly" 63$
"IH Clutch Lever Pin" 5$
If it only needs brake pads:
"OEM NOS Rear Disc Brake Pads" 50$ per set, need two sets
As it seems: It needs new calipers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, CCS only sells the left ones, as it seems.
"NOS LH Brake Calipers" 125$ a piece

Probably only needs an adjustment, I don't know. The whole caliper moves on the axle.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
