I'm sure it's worth it but that's to rich for my blood. Living in PA it's just a matter of time before I find a diesel Cub for dirt cheap that I can buy. My buddy had a super diesel cyclops I could have bought for $600 but I passed because it was half missing and didn't run right.

I am not opposed to others either.
My "real tractor" is a 1957 JD420S, LOL.

On that 430, the front axle looks too far back from the front. I wonder why they built it that way?
For smaller turning radius?

The Deere's are nice tractors.. my only complaint with the JD's was always the decks.. thin stamped sheet metal and flimsy brackets.. the decks never really seemed up to par with the tractors..

Great looking Deere though! I won't tell!!

Thanks guys for all of the compliments. I believe that this tractor has been a mower most of its life and the guy pulled a large leaf vacuum with it. I ordered a Ruegg hitch for it and some Carlisle Tru Powers. Can't wait to pull the plow with it!! I had a 2000 RPM PTO and Cat 0 John Deere hitch lined up but the guy at the last minute backed out on the deal. I'll get a PTO someday! I've got a large mower to run with it!

As far as the deck on this tractor goes, it's a 60" and it is heavy!! Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as with the Super Cubs... still have to lift the front end up to get the deck off!

Here's another pic of the lllooonnnggg nose! I like it!!

Darrell, congrats on the top GT/SGT ever built! I live for Cub Cadets but the first plow day I ever went to had a few of those long nose green machines there and when I heard them running I had to have one. Yours is a heck of a lot better shape than mine but maybe someday I can get it looking like yours.

What's not to like about a shaft driven deck, 2 speed rear with locking differential & a killer sounding Yanmar?

Rear PTO? What's wrong with Cub Cadet's crappy design of using multiple short shafts pinned together and using belts to drive the output? Deere with there design.
