Eric

Be careful if you work it in the brush with the mower deck off. The fan is easy to destroy and you have to split the tractor to replace it. I put a belly shield on my BX made out of some 1/4" UHMW that I had left over from the snow plow I built for it. BXpanded also sells a nice belly shield.

The fan was broken on my tractor when I got it. It is no fun replacing it. That white hub at the front of the transmission is supposed to have blades on it. The part was $6 but it took a few hours to replace it.

It will give you an excuse to hang out in your garage and smoke a cigar.

LOL, no Lew, that is my youngest child...

Jon, we are working on the building as we speak but no, it will be closed in by spring so then the shop starts... And all the snow is gone but now back to up and down weather, this sucks, lol...

And Sam, yes it will see a lot of off the lawn work so I will come up with a shield to protect under there.

And thanks everyone.

I picked up a 2018 BX23S for Christmas. I also added a Landpride Grapple and 48" brush mower.

Awesome machines. It has already made things so much easier to do. Enjoy!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
