Hmm. Napa says an 81" belt only comes in 1/2" width. Wonder if it will work

I will go by what Cub Cadet says as opposed to what NAPA says. Your call though.

Your Napa sucks and you should find a new one. I personally always call the local warehouse and have them send it to my satellite store. Automotive V belts start at A (1/2") and get bigger. Your parts guy just didn't want to open the "other" book.

I'm not sure if 3V is the correct profile for your application, but that for sure is a Napa 3/8 x 81" belt. It's $10 more to buy it from Cub (its $12 to buy a China belt of that size on Epay) which is what I would do in this case. Get the Cub belt, measure the profile, then find a generic to use as a replacement if you need one later on.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
