Default 402E haban sickle

So I am understanding that the E series fits wide frame tractors. Should it fit my 982? Have some other wide frames but none in running order right now. Thanks
Rick

The 982 runs a wider belt and the tractor is longer, not saying it won't work but you will have to modify it a bit.

It was made for the 129, 149 and 169. Can you make it work on a 982, only if you modify it. BTDT. I put one on a 1641. Custom mule drive and I made the PTO out of spare parts. Your results may vary.

Edit: How I made it fit a 1641. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=32618

Thanks, yeah I see now how it has to be modified. That looks cool on the 1641 for sure. I think I'm gonna switch gears and take the tiller off the 782 and put the the sickle on it, put tiller on 102. Or maybe wait until I get a 149 possibly tomorrow..... Either way I can't wait to see this sickle in action, waited for years to get one

Lew, I'll get pics up hopefully tomorrow before I ship out again, began mounting it the 782 but discovered that the belt was too short. Pretty sure it was mounted to a 129, the only wide frame at the sale. Don't suppose anyone would know off hand what belt length I need? Going to pick up some more stuff I don't need in the am, but think this sickle will look good on the 782

the belt is 3/8 x 34" on a 402d,but a 782 uses a wider belt.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
