Thanks for sharing the pics! I gotta say, Since I was a kid, I loved the green! I know better now, that the yellow and red are better machines, but WOW a JD430 drives me insane! What a machine! They did that one right all around!

Great pics Steve...but...that banner on the box trailer would have gotten the best of my good nature . Who's the vintage feller on the 71?

Thanks for posting the pictures! Looks like a good time was had by all. Too bad there wasn't a bigger variety of makes/models there. I really like your 782, looks like a ton o'fun.

This may be considered sacrilege, but even though my eyes sting from seeing so much GREEN, I wouldn't mind having that 430. Nice machine!

Well, the reason there was far more green at the event is because it was a WFM sponsored plow day. However, all makes and models were welcome. I was fortunate enough to get to know some of the guys when I actually owned some JD's.

I'm obviously partial to Cubs, but there are definitely a few JD's I would not mind owning. Getting some seat time in a few of the diesels that were there sure made me miss my JD 455. Now I'm on the hunt for another diesel, but I'm not certain of what model. Will probably wind up with a Yanmar.

I had an absolutely fantastic time from start to finish. The drive to and from Arab, AL was very pleasant, and the scenery was nice because we were not on the interstate the whole trip.

The field and the layout could not have been much better. There was just one very small spot the was a little damp in the morning, but everything was perfect by noon.

I did have a very embarrassing moment when the 782 died at the start of the parade lap. It took several of us to push it out of the row so others could pass. I'm quite certain that the incident made the day for all of the JD guys that were there! Boy, did I ever get an earful!!!

Just took a few minutes to resolve the issue, and I was back in the seat to try and salvage some dignity! I got a good laugh out of it...

It was just an all-around great time. Everyone was super nice to me even though I was riding a RED tractor. Fortunately, there were a couple of other Cubs there to keep the peace. -lol

Thanks again to Drew and Stewart from WFM for hosting such a great event. I look forward to going back in the fall.

Vince I heard they don't leave the state of AL for a plow day! Any truth to this? Or are the just scared of rednecks and their plow days?

Jeff, often on this site in the event section, plowdays like this are listed but i see this one was not listed prior to it happening. It was hosted by some John Deere afficianados and they hang out on Weekend Freedom Machines site. They have an event section there which i check often just so I dont miss anything locally.
Also there is another tractor website/forum. My Tractor Forum. They also have an events section and this plowday was listed on that site. As much as I love OCC, sometimes it can be beneficial to check other places.
Hope this helps.

BTW, this pd in Arab is a bi-annual event so be sure to check in over at WFM for info on their next one. Im sure they have a mailing list. The guys that host it are some good fellows. A lot of them from that pd and some of us from the Redneck pd will be attending the Mayfield Dairy pd in TN in late October. More news on that one to come. Im sure you can go back in the event section here on OCC and see a thread I did about Mayfield with tons of pics.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
