10 days later.....

No, you will have to remove the cover. It is likely the deck will also have to be removed. I don't know if the floor pan covers the linkage. The part pic isn't clear as to where exactly the linkage is. It's either underneath the machine, or under the floor pan.

First thing I would do is jack it up and disconnect the front tie rods at each front wheel. Then confirm they both go thru the full left turn right turn movement by hand before taking it further.

"10 days later..." Are we dating? Didn't mean to keep you waiting by the phone...but, you know, got things to do.

I'll get it off the ground and have a look-see....and try disconnecting the tie rods and see what's happening.

A mobile mechanic stopped by to work on my zero turn mower's steering issue, removed the shield on the front that covers all the steering linkages and removed debris from, I believe, the cavity above the wheel. Since then I was able to turn the wheels all the way to the left.

Now I am not able to turn the wheels all the way to the right. I removed the shield and tried poking around in the cavity above the right wheel. Not much effect. All the parts look like they're in good order.

Any thoughts?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
