Welcome kevhead. I'm sure you will enjoy your new machine and this site. I have had a lot of questions about my 149 and the members of OCC have given me great answers. Sounds like you are ready for Old Man Winter.

The highest point is in Fountain City or just East of it. I have been there. Fountain City has Levi Coffin Days Festival--he was instrumental in the underground railroad. If you ever go to his place, look at the names written on the stairs going up to the attic! I pointed that out and the guide did not even know they were there.

We go to Levi Coffin days just about every year. One of the best little street fairs you can attend. And the pork chop sandwiches (from Rotary club I think) Can't be beat.

I practically grew up in Union City, there's a marker a couple blocks from the center of town claiming the second highest point in Indiana. Never checked if it's true but the marker is very old and you can see U.C. is on high ground coming from any direction.

Hope you are doing fine sgt. porter. You are right about that street fair. For a small town, it is just the right time of year and right setting with lots of good food! I also like the history aspect for the background of the fair, too.

Now I have to ask, since Union City spreads across the Indiana/Ohio border......which side did you live on? Were you a Buck-eye or a Hoosier?

Indiana side. Born in Muncie. Moved to U.C when I was 5, graduated high school there. Came back after my Army days, worked there up until disabled. Back in Muncie now. Few people understand the frustration of DST (Indiana time/Ohio time), and BFO's like those who grew up in Union City. Lol

Never been to it. Seems like I'm always busy. I do try to get to the White River Antique Show some years. It's 5 miles from my house.

I'm in Indianapolis. I'm about a half mile from where I69 and I465 connect on the northeast side of Indy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
