So far I do really enjoy using the 1250. It is a night and day difference driving after fixing the hydro controls.

Looks like most of the winter prep is done. Plan on doing the hydro service and replacing the cork gasket next along with some steering upgrades.

So far, the engine uses about 1/3 quart every 7 hours on multi-weight. Lots of cold starts there too. Not too bad considering what condition the cylinder and piston appeared to be in.

Fender Pan Repairs.

I'm not a body guy. I'm used to welding structural steel, so it isn't perfect but at least I was able to square up the fenders again and add in the support that was lost by the cutout sections. I'll probably take the pan back off and clean up the back on the repair as well. There were a lot of weld back-fills required since the previous owner's cutouts were so asymmetrical.

Thanks guys.

Hopefully I'll get some action shots soon with snow. We typically get screwed on snow here in southern Ohio, but I'm hoping this year will be different.

We finally got some snow! Only about 3-4 inches, but enough to play in.

Didn't get very good shots since it was 6am when I went out to clear the drive, but some pics are better than none

It's -5 degrees here this morning and that K301 started right up. Amazing engines.

Yes it is! I find it amazing that these tractors some 40-50 years old now still perform very well. Enjoy your 1250.

Yeah it really is amazing how well they perform after doing the common maintenance items.

Still have a couple QuietLine rattles to fix, but she's turning into a real smooth runner.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
