IH 2001 loader on farmall super m
Hey everybody,
I got another project now. I just found a nice 2001 IH loader for a good price and was thinking about putting it on my Super M. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen this combination before . This loader has the mechanical trip. Was wondering if anybody knows of any major modifications that will need to be done and if the tractors hydraulics will handle it. The loader Is coming off a Farmall 460. |

460 and the M are basically the same...... except the 450 is quite a bit longer. Might have to make the brackets for the front. Rears will bolt on.
Will the hydraulics work?... Probably... if you rev it way up. Depends on how good the hydraulics on the tractor are now. You aren't going to pick up anything heavy with a trip bucket anyway. |

Yes I measured the length and the rear should bolt right around the rear axle I am saving the front brackets off the 460 as they may work on the SM I figured the hydraulics would work but at a much slower pace
Im not really planning to lift much with it mainly use to scoop around brush The heavier jobs are reserved for my 706 with hydraulic bucket the hydraulics are much better on it I really didnt need this second loader but I kind of accidently found it and the guy was very easy to deal with I gave him a price and he took it Thanks J mech for the quick response. |

Loader work with the '06's suck too. That inline shift pattern never wants to move with pressure on it.
What loader on the 706? 2200? 2250? Or aftermarket? |

2250 on the 706 and yes I have already been into the shifter mechanism a few years back it got real tight and you couldnt hardly get it to shift into the different ranges

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
