Default 1282 Plow Install Help

Hi guys,

I recently bought a wide frame plow thinking I could install it onto my Cub Cadet 1282. I am having some difficulty. The 1282 also has a manual lift which does get in the way when trying to mount the plow sub frame. I can bend the slotted ends on the sub frame a little bit and it helps but I don't want to push it too far. I'd prefer not to make permanent modifications to the plow or the tractor. Has anyone had similar issues?

Take a pic of the plow and post it here so we can see it. Whereabouts in PA are you located?

Attached is the picture of the plow. If I made a couple bends in the sub frame, I think it will work. I am in Erie, PA.

That subframe is for a narrow frame tractor. Won't work on your 1282.

The blade is the same but like Tim said you will need a wide frame subframe and also the plow bracket for the lift rod.

It looks like a piece was added to make it wider.

Here's a NF front blade with dimensions

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
