How would you do this

You should have painted the letters first in black,the fill them with with honey,then painted the yellow.Then eat the honey.
Candle wax would work also.Heat it up to get the wax off the black paint.

I was thinking some form of black liquid epoxy that has a cure/setting time of at least several hours. Draw a bead of epoxy in center of valleys and the stuff would eventually flow out to the edges.

the honey would sure taste better than the wax!

Are those cover made of some kind of plastic? I remember a product I use once it was a green liquid stuff you can spray with a airbrush, I think the name was "Liquid mask". You just cut carefully and remove with an xacto the surface you want to paint, wen it's done that stuff can be peeled away like a banana skin.

The one I used Tim was a industrial product for glass, metal and cement, I never test it on Lexan plastic but this Parma stuff may work too and it's cheap enough to give it a try.
