Default 149- no hour meter

Looking at a CC 149...great condition. One thing that did catch my attention was that it didn't have an hour meter on the dash. Was this an option? Can one be added on?
Thanks

The only tractor in that series with an hourmeter is the 169. There's nothing stopping you from adding one. It's on the left (I think) side panel on a 169.

Some came with hour meters and others didn't. If it did it would have it under the gas tank on the the left cover. How much did the guy want for it? If it isn't much buy it they are one greatest cubs out there!

The 149 and 169 are my two favorite Cubs. I'll keep you posted about how things progress.

My 149 didn't have an hour meter. I have seen those side panels for sale with an hour meter already installed in them, usually about $20 + shipping. It certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker if the 149 didn't have an hour meter in it. Good luck on your deal.

Well, I'm a happy guy! I made a trip to Michigan and came home with a new addition to my Cub family. Included in my purchase were: Rototiller, snowblower, Brinley plow, 44" mower deck, dump cart, a brand new seat (still in the box), wheel chains and weights, and extra qts. of motor oil, hydraulic oil, and Cub Cadet paint. I've been looking for a 149 for awhile and now I have one! I started giving it some TLC today, and soon I'll be hooking up the snowblower since we're expecting some lake effect snow tonight and tomorrow.

Well, I got my hour meter from Patton Acres today. It only took one day to arrive! Great product and price too! I'll take some photos once I get it installed on my 149.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
