If you replace the seal properly with an OEM seal, then you shouldn't have an issue.
However, it can be difficult to do properly. Seals are very sensitive to installation methods and FOD. I personally wouldn't change it, if it isn't leaking.

Ouch personal attack... there is more than one right way to do things by the way. You aren't always right, and like I said it's a hobby, just like most people on here I'm sure it's not their day job, but we arent idiots also, if you call out everyone who's not a mechanic and say they have no knowledge on these topics you are mistaken. I have had a lot of experience with engines. From small single cylinder to 8 cylinder. It was my personal opinion and belief that you attacked my friend, that good sir who started this thread should know there are many options to consider but I thank you attention and detail to my ablilties and knowledge on ENGINES... not just cubs in general, but you are wrong with your assumption on me. Sorry I mucked up the thread. I guess in this day and age, mass amounts of experience are only pertinent as long as you don't hurt somebodies feelings.
Yep. More than one way to do things. I fix peoples mistakes all the time. Like the shocks I changed out yesterday that weren't that old, but mounted upside down so they failed. Guy didn't think it mattered which way they went on. I'll also point out, I wasn't the one who originally said to leave it alone if it isn't leaking. George did. (Another very experienced and knowledgable voice on the forum.) I agreed with him. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
