Is it really a 1948 cub cadet ?
Some people are just plain lint heads.
Give him a call and he prolly can't hear you due to all the lint in his head. http://albany.craigslist.org/grd/5457364802.html

"Not run since 2 years ago" must mean it won't start or blown engine, hence the "no battery".

I smell a scam... who would spend $2000 on a garden tractor without doing enough research to even know what year it was built, probably has nothing more than the pictures he found on the web.

I saw that. Isn't it 10:30 out there?
Pretty late or I would. We'll see if he answers the email. I asked for the serial number of the 1948 Cub Cadet. |

Man you guys are rough sometimes. Not everyone is a cub expert. Might be an older guy who's confused about the year of it, who knows.
LP that ones in old Alvy territory, good pickins up there, but that one is steep no doubt. Be nice young man, Columbia county people are good folks elle oh elle

I did get a hold of the guy.... or maybe it's a woman. I think it's a woman. Anywho, I'm waiting for a serial number. She can't find it. I sent her a link that showed the location. She keeps sending me numbers and it like "Is this it?"...... No, go look again.
If nothing else, I'll find out what year it is and suggest she change the ad. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
