Nice find!
Hope you get to use it soon, I’m tired of pushing snow already.

Thanks Terry and Mike!
Terry, I'm tired of winter. Rolled some of the yard Sunday. Sunny, warm and ground was perfect! Back down to below freezing (31°) yesterday, so I guess spring isn't here just yet. Still VERY wet. Long time before planting season, but time to get ready! |

Didn't have parts for my other job (paying) so I played today. Stripped the planter down to the basic unit. I mentioned I wasn't going to use the big seed hopper, so I made small ones today. One for me, one for Chris. I'll probably paint them IH white. That bright white hurts my eyes.

Cool planter. I fabricated a sleeve hitch mount for a similar planter for a friend a few years ago. I believe it was an IH unit but it had a round fiberglass seed hopper. It definitely looked goofy with the huge hopper behind his Cub.

Thanks Adam. They did make round seed hoppers for the 295. Honestly, I think any of the hoppers IH had for the plate planters will fit. I haven't looked to see if the old metal ones will fit, but I think they will.

Looks pretty cool Jonathan. Nice to see attachments that will do jobs too big to be done by hand but too small to be done with a full size unit. I'm a city boy, but I can understand your happiness at finding something you've been looking for.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
