Default Neighbor did it this time

For the last 5 years since I moved to my place in Galax I have been servicing the neighbors MTD Yardman and only charging for parts. Time after time I've told her it's time to replace it with a Cub. I've found her 5 or 6 nice machines and always got the "I can't afford that" so what does she do, go out and buy a used Crapsman with a Kohler Courage and not even a call asking what I thought. Hope she's happy and hope she can find someone else to wrench on it.

Pic is off the net. As they say here in the south "Bless Her Heart"

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

No longer my problem. She can find a new place to get her junk serviced. I honestly do not need or want the practice working on nasty belt drive lawn mowers. Bad enough that I have to deal with the 2 BIL's 2000 series stuff that they run into the ground. Have one on the lift at the moment that needs a pinion gear for the steering. Never seen one go bad but then again why should you use a grease gun? Maybe so that the steering is free to move? Nah just crank on it harder. Did I ever mention that I have a huge dislike for people that just abuse good equipment? Rant over. Heading off for a cocktail refill.

These were my first thoughts as I read his post. My guess, whatever the neighbor does, he'll lay in there like a boy dog!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
