Use the ring lands as a guide to make it square. Then, use a feeler gauge to measure the gap in the ring. I like mine pretty tight, so I keep it to the low end of the spec.

You need to do this with the top and center rings, but also with the thin wipers from the oil ring (lower one). You do not have to check the "accordion" looking spring from the oil ring set. So, 4 rings total need checked.

If they are too tight, take the ring out and put it in a vise with the gap just above the jaws. Use a hand file to shave some off the ring. Try to keep it square. It doesn't take much, so go easy.

Hope that makes sense.

Thank you Jon for the great advises and tips but my mistake was not measure the gap of those rings, my mistake was taking number out of a rabbit hat! (Honestly I don't remember where I read that at all) I wish I keep all the measurement I did for all ring to show you the good job I did but I didn't keep them since I decide to bore the cylinder .010 because It was to close to max out of round and too "shiny" for just a honing STD piston job. This is the first K series I rebuilt, not the first engine I work on but each time no matter what size or type of engine you work on it's always a learning process to do it the right way.

Thank again to shim in Jon, your advises are greatly appreciate.

No problem and since it make sense it's perfectly appropriate and may help those who read before asking question.

I did few things today but Twoton post what I was searching for so instead of double posting the part reference number of the camshaft shim I measure today I post Twoton thread link. http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=45534

The engine is still sitting at the machine shop so all I can post is my camshaft shim measurement pictures (0.0104) hope to post more stuff ASAP

Just receive a call from the machine shop, my bore measurements are spot on and he confirm my suspicion about the crankshaft, I need a .10 undersized rod so I order this kit with a +.010 piston/rings and a -.010 rod.

Now the waiting game...

Even worse Jon "I'm a French CRAPNADIAN living in CRAPNADA!" LMAO But I use a US warehouse drop point service in NY State just a quarter mile from the frontier!
This way I pay the same $10us shipping fee you guys pay.
So I choose well? Sweet!
PS: No offence to my fellow Lance who is a nice Canadian biker

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
