I didn't mean to say anyone stole it. I would have to think twice if that one were offered to me for free. The first thing I did to my 149 was drain the fluid out of the tires. I have no need for weights.
There are several Cub Cadets listed on the Louisville KY craigslist. There is even a Original that the seller says runs, mows and no knocks or smoke for $300. I'm not going to see that one either.

I didn't say that right then. I mearly suggested I think it would be wrong for someone on this site to see a photo of a tractor someone here is interested in buying, and have the audacity to beat him to it. That's what I mean about "Stole".
I like to think I have pretty strong ethical values....but I know people who would do that. My own uncle has done it with cars, and then tried to sell it to the guy who told him about it, for more than the original price...just to make a buck.
...And I think there's that "everyone deserves to be screwed" mentality with those kinds.

You guys know your tractors. Looks like somebody is trying to at least double their money on this one. Asking price from the original owner was $175 with the snow plow. It is on Louisville Craigslist and I am NOT buying.

here i have a 1972 sears compact 8E lawn tractor.. i got this on trade and have no use for it.. it has the havey duty ajustable sears snow plow , and wheel weights ..has good tires .. it also has a brand new battery .. mower runs and mowes good.. this mower is tuff.. asking $350 .. (see craigslist for phone#)

get it before the snow gets here.. going to snow this weekend and next week..

It's a sham you missed it. That's a good tractor. Even for what he's asking now.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
