Default How good are the manuals that they sell on EBAY?

Looking for a manual for my 1200 just to brush up on things and seen they sell the manuals on Ebay. I'd really rather have an original, but are the ones they have reprints? Are they legible? Worth the money? I'd rather stay away from the CD ones if possible.Any opinions??

Not sure why you would want to buy one when you can go to the "Technical Library - Tractors " section here on this very sight and download one for free.

Many of the pictures in the "Blue Ribbon Manuals" are actual photos that have been reproduced too many times and you can't see anything (I got mine from IH back when IH was IH).

I located the online library here after I posted the question. Man,there is alot of good useful info there..I bought a copy of a Buick manual a couple years ago and that's what happened as well. That was what I was thinking. Would like to find an original book, but they are probably like finding chicken lips...

Default reprints

I've notice the manuals I downloaded from this area and similar sites for the "k" engines. The pictures a very dark compared to the ones you buy from my local cub dealer. Example try to see the ballance gear pictures from the manual you download from even the Kohler's site.

Always try and buy a manual if you need the pictures to help you.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
