You did not mention whether you get any time for your Cub Cadets!!??

I run emissions (EPA, Euro, etc.) test cycles for a diesel (and natural gas) engine manufacturer. (Medium duty, and heavy duty engines primarily... up to 16 liters.)
I do have to wrench some also. So, at least it's not all sit down work. An injector change here, turbocharger change there, aftertreatment work, engine changes, etc. We don't do any major work in my labs testing cells/rooms (time is big money in my lab), but that work does go on elsewhere in the building. (I've done that work also.)

So, I guess you could call me a mechanic.

I've read every response to this thread. Very nice to know.

Cheers.

I am a shipwright and builder of wooden boats in Newport, RI. I specialize in restoring or replicating classics of all sorts. More sailboats than powerboats. This is my latest build just after we launched her but before we stepped the mast. A Herreshoff S boat called Squaw. [IMG][/IMG]

I have worked for over 15 years with a general contractor doing all phases of remodeling an new construction. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and I am currently putting that to use with a firm that develops heavy industrial plants (lime and cement primarily) I am fairly new to the world of cubs, but it is turning into quite the hobby.

I think I can guess the company you work for being from Indiana. We run several of their engines in our buses. If you could, send me the engineers that developed the placement of the new emission systems on the engine. I have a hammer with their name on it

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
