Default Today's pick

Well, I may need to build more storage 'cause they're comin home two a time now! Had a chance to meet fellow NY cub collector and board member Jumper and pick up an Original and a 70 (I think) w/creeper. Both are pretty complete, the O still turns over but needs driveshaft work. The 70 is stuck, but I have hope for it.
Jim, it was a pleasure to meet you and your wife, thank you for all your help, and for a great deal. I had a big smile all the way home!

What’s the serial on the O doc? Looks a little early. Nice scores and always good to meet a fellow member

WOW!! Now I feel better about my addiction! You just keep dragging them it!!

Nice looking pair... your 70 may be a 100... looks more like a 10hp from what I can see... The air cleaner is for sure not from a K161.

Keep us posted! And keep saving the orphans one by one or two by two!!

Alvy - serial on the O is 6246, which makes it May of 1961. It still has the K161 in it. I'll have to get the serial tag cleaned off on the little Kohler and see if I'm lucky enough for it to be the original engine. Thanks for calling my attention to it being an early cub. It now rates inside storage!

Were would the serial number be located on 70 or maybe its a 100 if JaynJeep is right? I'd like to identify it for certain.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
