Well, I have it from the guy that gave it to me, that it was running and mowing like it is, before it was given to him, so if it is a repower, then it worked.

I have a carb comming in the mail, should be here in a day or two, then we will see what happens. I sprayed some carb cleaner in it, and it ran for about 10 seconds, so I hope a new carb will have it motivating again.

I finally found the rer I saw, it is a cadet 60 in the for sale section on here. I couldn't remember where I saw it and searched most of wisconsin and illinois on craigslist. I never realized ih made so many different rear engine riders.

Well,

I finally got some work done on my 55, When I got it cleaned up a bit, I noticed that the output shaft was out of line. So I thought well, I will open the transmission and either get a bushing, or make one. Well, it had more problems once I got it opened. Two of the gears are broken. The ones that connect the two shafts together with the chain.

Anyone have a parts transmission?

Thanks.

Jon

Here are some pictures of the 55, as well as the transmission that is broken.

If anyone has any leads on a transmission, I would love to hear about them.

Sam,

That is a good looking 55, from what is visible.

BUT it is a long way from Texas.

Thanks for thinking of me.

That 60 you're talking about is mine, I gave up on selling it. I'll just throw it up in the rafters and look at it

Well Happy day everyone.

I found a almost complete 85, what I wanted in the first place.

I have a MUCH better body, but has been outside a long time.

I will post some pictures soon.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
