Deck lights
I can't take credit for this since it was not originally my idea. I'm not sure where I saw it but I have made my own improvements to the idea.
I made a prototype out of tin and then made the finally version out of 1/8 steel so it would with stand some abuse if ever needed. The lights were about $5 for 8 of them on Ebay. Should make it a lot easier to mow at night when getting home late from coaching track in the spring. Last picture is hard to see how bright they are since it was still light out but you can make out the shadows cast by the front tires. |

Looks good so far! How about a night/evening shot with the mower deck mounted.

Had a busy weekend but finally got some nighttime pictures. I only have the 42" deck on since the 48" is going to get overhauled sometime this spring/summer. Either way, the lights are up high enough that the deck doesn't block much.
Also figured since these and headlights are LEDs, that it will need a set of LED taillights so they match. Have a set off Amazon, just didn't have time to get them on yet. These are the lights I have on my cub if anyone is interested in doing the same. I think I spent $5 between the lights and connectors for this project. Its a pretty cheap and helpful upgrade in my opinion. You can also order them in color if you wanted to dress your cub up. http://www.ebay.com/itm/15W-12-X-LED...1X4u5u&vxp=mtr |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
