Don't skimp on the prep.
Here's why prep is one of the most important parts of painting. This bumper was painted by a different shop and they obviously didn't do a good job when prepping it.

Yea, when it was all done I'd got about 95% of the paint off.

The other shop is actually a very large dealership and the guy that owns the car works there, I guess they painted the front end of this car 3 times and it's still the wrong color and when the bumper started to peel he decided that he didn't want them touching it.

25 years ago I was washing my 66 Mustang with a WEAK power washer. I was young enough back then that the car was usually washed weekly. Sometimes by hand, other times at the car wash. The pressure washer was about the same as a car wash, I had used it before. Anyway in the blink of an eye the paint peeled off the top of the right fender. Everything else was OK. Car had been painted for several years.
Wife had a 92 Thunderbird that the Ford dealership painted twice under warranty. When we traded it off, the paint on the plastic parts around the bumpers had bubbled up like you put paint stripper on it, yet it was still adhered well. Also, I had painted the black trim around the doors and windows. The tape was only on for a couple hours--brought the clearcoat off with it. When my house was built, they sprayed the front porch railings and got a little overspray on the bricks---20 years later and it still won't come off even with a pressure washer!

John-Yea, bricks are porous. Of course if you wanted to paint the bricks it wouldn't stick.

3 times no match? What kind of shitty spectrophotometer they have? Color blending is an art! Proof that not all painter are create equal.
Oupsy! Look like someone forgot to apply adhesion promoter? Incompatible product? Not enough sending? All mentioned?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
