Default Replacement seats

Where are you guys buying seats from? I need replacements on 2 or 3 of my Cadets--1811, 2284 (I think), maybe 982 and 2072. I've looked at Hamilton Bobs, Seat Warehouse, and IHCCW. Who has the best quality and closest to original?

I've bought two from HamiltonBob and the last two from SeatWarehouse. They are both selling from the same manufacturer and are of very high quality. The seats are very comfortable and none had any defects. I used the make offer function on SeatWarehouse's E-bay auction for $98 and they accepted. So $94 from HB or $98 from SW. SW shipped in 3 days, HB was about 2 weeks. They look almost identical to the original seat I took off my 782D. If you're going to buy 3 at a time, I would contact both vendors and see if they would do a little better on price.

+1 on Hamilton Bobs.

I have also picked one up from Surplus Center but IIRC I had to drill the bottom because the bolt pattern wasn't correct.

You know.... "back in the day" you could get one from CCC for $100 or less.

I need new seats on my tractors too. The one on the 1811 is getting pretty ratty. I put it on new shortly after I bought it in 2001 or 02 (I can't recall when I bought the tractor, lol). I got a genuine CC seat from the dealer for it. It's even embossed with the logo. As I recall, I paid about $100 for it back then. Now, they want around $150 for same exact seat.

My question is..... if you can still get the seat for $100..... is it inflation, or greed?

Good thread!
I need several seats also.
Has anybody tried a seat rebuilder for the white ones with the blue stripes?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
