Default Got me a Ford snow shovel...

Other than Cub Cadets the most common tractor I like to buy is the Ford Lgt series and I just picked up this one last tuesday. Lgt165(16hp Kohler K/hydrostatic) with Johnson loader, two stage blower, new Carlisle Tru Power rears, battery tender, recent powder coat paint, spare set of decals, homebuilt rear weight.... $800 and drove it in the trailer.

Tru Powers were useless in the snow so I put on Kenda Bear Claw rears and Kenda Super Turf fronts. I’ll put turfs back on it and sell the tractor with a deck next spring but I’ll keep the fel and put it on something else. I have an identical tractor for sale right now so the snowblower can go with that one.

WOW Lance, that's a heck of a good buy, goodbuy.
Sounds like a money maker to me.
Oh, by the way, keep that white chit up there. It's more fitting to Canada.

You really steal that one Lance! You can ask $1200US just for the loader! This is a keeper, but who I am to tell you what to do with that one, I use to own a almost new Ford LGT16D and I sell it! It was to much of a mower for my first house 5000sq feet lawn at the time.

Holy cow! You already got snow in your neck of the wood! I feel lucky, nothing yet here few hundred feet down of the "North pole".

Todd speaking of white $hit...We already send you our Canadian goose so you better take cover.

Those little Fords use to be built by Jacobson, but who was building them after that?
New Holland?

Thx guys, I dont often pay so much on a flip but I think I’ll be able to keep the loader and still make a little profit. The fel will also fit my opensided Lgt100 so Ive decided to put it on that one... but not until spring after I upgrade to a 16hp engine, the engine swap was already planned for this winter so this 165 came along at a perfect time.

The Lgt100 came home about 4 years ago with a crankcase full of water so it wasnt expected to run very well or very long but altho noisy its done well, I mowed with it one summer and tilled the garden twice a year, and pulled alot of trailers. Despite its ugly appearance its one of my favorite tractors so its gonna get a well deserved make over. I’ll post two pics, one from 4 yrs ago, and one from yesterday after I set it up on jack stands but before I took the wheels off. Originally the Lgt100s did not have lights so I added those and built an exhaust that runs out the rear past the right rear tire, and I changed the seat, otherwise its near factory originall.

After Jacobsen the Lgt series was built by Gilson before New Holland.

Some of the later New Holland lawn and garden tractors were made by Toro Wheelhorse. They were rebadged 260 series.

I wouldn't mind having one of those fords to repaint in Oliver colors, since a real one goes for ridiculous $

The Oliver hood and dash was more like the Minneapolis-Moline and White tractors, the Fords had a differant hood with a battery access door. I think theres one colour scheme that they forgot so I plan to paint my Lgt100 in Cockshutt red😉

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
