Exhaust stack ??
Does an exhaust stack need a baffle to create some backpressure?
Im thinking of putting one on the 181 that I just put in my Bolens.

Nope. Lots of straight pipes on engines and they work fine.

A baffle would, to some extent, work as a muffler so Im gonna experiment a little with it, I’ll make a removable insert and see if its any quieter.

It would make some back pressure yeah. But from what I've found out with them it really doesn't make a difference...
