I have one I need to take apart and I know I will not be following this guys video. When two minutes in he called it a squash plate I knew something was very wrong.I guess it's kinda like a train wreck, not something you want to see but tough to turn away .I watched another part or two and he did get it to work that, I think says more about how well these things are made .Even after what he did to it it still worked.I may have a chance after all.

my wood splitter has a k341 on it the guy that gave it to me had the motor all wrapped up nicely. after ten years out behind his garage the tarps pretty much rotted off of it. the mice had moved into the fan shroud and the lower half of the ring gear was gone along with the bottom of the fan shroud. the aluminum bearing plate was also rotted thru i think when the oil came out the mice left. replaced the rotted parts and its since then split alot of wood. so i would say mouse piss is pretty corrosive. the bearing plate looked alot like the rear of his hydro pump

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
