Zach Kerber standard steel Clutch pressure plates?
Hello-
I'm about to start rebuilding the clutch on my Cub 100 and there is a good chance my pressure plates are shot beyond resurfacing. Has anyone had experience with Zach Kerber's standard steel pressure plates as an alternative to OEM plates? I'm not looking to build a puller but Zach's plates look like a nice option to consider for a stock rebuild. I'm still very new to these tractors so any advice from the experts is appreciated. -Thanks! |

I wouldn't hesitate to purchase Zach's pressure plates as a replacement. I have purchased other products from Zach and really like the quality. You're looking at $150 or more for OEM, Zach's plates are $60. Probably better quality too. You have 14 days to return if you don't like them.

Last clutch parts I bought were from Mid West Super Cub. Pretty sure they have competitive prices with Kerber.

I have a pair of his clutch plates and they are nicely made. I have then set back for my next build and don't have them on yet.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
