Question Having Problem w/Stalling

What is happening is the tractor (2135) will stall while cutting. I have to wait anywhere from 30 mins to over an hour before it will start again. What is strange is when I hear it dogging, and I disengage the PTO it will keep running. It still dogs for a while, but won't stall. If I re engage the PTO after a couple of minutes it will dog and stall if I don't disengage it. If I wait for a while and start cutting again it will give me more than a couple of minutes cut time ... more like 20 min. I have the gas cap loose because it causes the it to stall if I have it on too tight.

Any idea what I need to do to correct this? Thanks for reading my post.

Gremlens. Gremlens are infesting your tractor. Better sell it fast!

Do you want a list of the 10 or so obvious possible causes?

Have you done anything other than loosen the gas cap to try to fix it, or figure out what's wrong with it?

Do you know how to go about performing ANY engine diagnostic tests? Or do we need to walk you through a complete diagnostic procedure, because you basically just said, "My tractor doesn't run, what's wrong with it?" We need more information if you have it!

Come on Karmack the Magnificent. Just give him the answer.
Come on guy, we all want to help get your tractor going, but we also need to know what, if anything other than loosening the gas cap has been done to it.

Let's make a guess contest! I bet his deck spindles bearings are shot, kaput, done for good! So they overheat, almost stall and kill his engine.
I'm sure a 5 gallons of gas and a match can take care off it.

Well after careful consideration of all the facts presented,
I come to this conclusion:
the valves are valving, the carburetor is carburating, the spark plugs are sparking and the crank is cranking, but the pistons are not pissin!
so it needs a new piddle valve.

Come on guys, this Lady is trying to find out what is making her tractor stall. True she didn't give much info, but to someone new to this stuff, there is no use in making fun of her question.
Spirittoo Give us more detailed info and i'm sure someone will be able to help you.

When I typed this the first sentence was to Jon, and how was I to know it was a "Lady" and not a guy? Either way, more information is needed to make a proper diagnosis...

Arrow Hummmm Not Sure What Else

Sorry I haven't gotten by sooner something came up that I had to deal with. Anyway ... I don't know what else I can tell you. I didn't try anything else because I didn't know what else to do that would help. I tried cleaning the carb before but that didn't help. The only thing that did was loosing the gas cap which solved the problem for a while, then it started acting up again.

What about the PTO and disengaging it stop the stalling? Most seem to be too busy ridiculing me to comment on that.

Perhaps if you ask me some more questions I may be able to answer or find out if I can get an answer.

I'm not a expert ... just an old woman trying to keep an old tractor going because I can't afford another one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
