Good work Tim.
Sounds alright, you'll get it dialed into perfection before long. That "diamond" in a goats a$$ it just may be.

It's not from the exhaust, it's from the air coming off the flywheel.

Yesterday it wasn't charging, turned out to be some dirty contacts. Turns out the fuel pump works but i'm still going to replace it since it will be much easier to do now while the tins are off. Next item on the list is figuring out why the pto wont engage but that's gonna have to wait cause i'm about to take it out for a spin.

Since there's no seat i was sitting on the fender and hit a bump in the field and almost fell off. I'm happy to report it drives very well and the hydro is much quieter than my 1211. It's a little on the jerky side and i can look in and see that someone has done some welding on the trunion, hopefully its not beyond repair. Now that I've had it running a bit it seems to have cleared up its carb issue but i'm going to rebuild it anyway. This thing is coming together nicely and i look forward to plowing with it this winter.
I forgot to mention, the hour meter is also working.

Here's a pic of the trunion, fortunately it's not welded solid like I had feared but it is gonna need some help.

Looks like i need a new pto switch, I'm not getting any power out to the pto but i can use a jumper wire at the plug and get it to come on. That will conclude my work for the weekend, I'm gonna get this mess cleaned up and go home to mow the grass.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
