Default Rubber tank bushing

How many times (typically) can the gas valve in the fuel tank be removed and reinserted before replacing the rubber bushing?

Will the shorter bung offered on eBay with the gas valve, about $12.including s&h, work as well as the longer OEM?

Maybe grommet rather than bushing ☺

I only replace them 1 time. No idea what the Flea Bay item is. Go for it and let us know how it works out for you. Personally I hate fuel leaks. They suck big time when your garage burns down.

Now Lew, my bushings are $1.03 each and your bushing is a lot more at $5.48.

Yes I know but you have to pay $4.50 shipping for each or is that for as many as you want?

Your local auto parts store should have them also.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking at this item on the Bay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/QUALITY-FUEL...53.m1438.l2649

NO! I don't want any gasoline leaking. That's why I'm asking for your help - if someone knows of any failures in the options available.

I wondered if folks replaced the rubber grommet each time they removed the fuel valve or if it could be used for a few remove/replace cycles.

This pair also got my attention - anybody used this type?

Another thing that I'd be interested in knowing is if of you apply a lubricant to install the grommet and/or the fuel valve. Vaseline? Thank you, Steve

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
