Today I finally finished up the engine ( less putting on the oil bath filter only because I don't want to be knocking into it). I resolved the sticking governor disk and made up a copper fuel line and managed to bend it successfully on the second try.

Next step is to get the clutch parts painted and assembled once I get everything. Then hopefully I can do a test drive.
Very Nice work!! Thanks for the video.. amazing how sweet and smooth those little 7hp K series run...

Played around with some 1/8 x 3/4 stock this morning. From pictures I think the original stock might have been 5/8 but. Could only find 1/2 and 3/4 so I went with the 3/4. Still need to paint it up. Because I don't have a brake to handle 1/8 I did this with a vise and 4lb hammer so bend is not as crisp.

Unless you are going for PERFECT in this restoration, I think it looks very nice.

Thanks John, Just trying to make it look as close as it should as I can . I don't have the correct fuel line and pretty sure it is not the "correct" starter/generator. The S/G has a plug in the rear housing where the oil fitting would be, but the front housing does not have that.

Mounted the new bracket and the oil bath filter.

Question: How much of the steel wool type material is suppose to be in there? See picture. I pulled it all out and cleaned it thoroughly but it just seems like a lot.

Your bracket looks good

I've never had one of those oil bath air cleaners apart but others that I have had apart were pretty full of the steel wool type material.. based on others I think that is about the right amount.

Your progress looks good. Thanks for the pics and update!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
