Default Kt17 valve seals

Since I have the heads off I'd like to pull the valves and clean them and also install new seals, the seals from Kohler are about $20 each which is insane. I'm hoping somebody knows what size they are so I can see if the local machine shop can match up something far more economical. Any help would be appreciated.

My local machine shop came through with new valve seals, the sealed power part number is st-2005 and he sold them to me for $2 each. The original valve seals also have the 2005 part number on them. Sure beats $20 each from Kohler.

Here's some comparison pics between the original seal and the new seal (new seal on the left), they look identical and as you can see in the last pic they have the same part number on them. I did some searching last night and they're available from multiple sources ranging from $1.80 to $3 each, either way it's better than $20 each. We need to make a section where members can post money saving items like this so its easy to find for future reference and to help other members save money.

Thanks Olds,
Much appreciated by myself and others.
Looks like they fit inline 6 cyl Fomoco engines from early 70's-80's
Just crazy wanting $20 + for one seal by some people.

Speaking of kt17 seals, has anyone found a source for cheaper air cleaner seals? The ones that go between the top air cleaner cover and the plate that goes on top of the air cleaner.

I need a few of them and I’m seeing them for like 7 bucks a piece. That seems nuts for a little piece of rubber tube.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
