K161 Points Push Pin
I purchased a used K161 short block and need some help with the Points Push "pin" or "rod".
Does anyone know if a Push pin from a K241 will fit or is it the same part. Or does anyone know the original part # for a K161? Thanks |

Well..... the 161 block and the 241 block are very different in size. The points push rod carries a different part number for the 161, and I'm about 99.999999% sure they are more than just different part numbers. Pretty sure the 241 rod is longer.
Go to Cub Cadet's website and look up the part number you seek. You can also look on Kohler engine site. No reason for us to do it for you.... |

Your 71 looks good! The rear rims are on backwards though...the dish should face out. |

The Breaker rods are different between the k241/k301 and the k161/k181
The "in-spec" lengths of the pins are: 10-16hp is 1.500" to 1.600" 7-8 HP is 1.250" to 1.260"

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
