My Aunt and Uncle had one they bought new in 1948.. It was still running and working as of 2 years ago.. I found out 2 days too late that she had it hauled off because she didn't think anybody would want it!! A few months ago we were cleaning out her house and found the original paperwork and warranty card from 1948!

I think these are sweet. 9 times outta 10 when you find one it still works. 10 times out of 10 they are heavy as hell to move and transport. but not as bad as the freezers I'm told.....

About 10 years ago a there was one in the local antique shop, pretty nice shape and had cold pop in it.
The lady tried her best to sell it to me. she started at $100 and by the time I left she was at $40.
I told her I really didn't have a place for it, or wanted it.
she said yep, that is why it is sitting here, nobody wants them, and they are heavy.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
