Default 2000 RPM implement possibilities

In the quest to find 2000 RPM implements for the Super Garden Tractors, I called on several companies. Of course the demand for 2000 RPM implements is almost nonexistent, so no one makes this stuff anymore. Well, almost no one.

As you can maybe see at the bottom of each page, 2000 RPM gearbox available upon request.

Now before you start yelling at me. No, I don't know if they provide a 1" 15 spine PTO shaft. And no, I don't know what direction they spin. But in the case of the tiller, you can change the direction, so I wouldn't think that direction matters.

The mower is rear discharge so maybe it could be as simple as having a blade or blades that have the edge on the opposite side.

Man do I need a computer. Sorry for all the spelling and crappy pics. Not sure about this Surface Pro3 thing

Didn't almost all the garden tractor manufacturers in the 90's go with the 2000 RPM attachment? Cub, Deere, Craftsman, Allis? There has to bea market for this stuff. Here is some contact info.

Now let's compare a Surface pic to an iPhone.

No, not everyone used a 2K RPM PTO. CCC did, Kubota did too (on some tractors). JD had an oddball speed. The big thing was, some were rev rotation some weren't and most all of the manufacturers made their own attachments. By the 90's 2K RPM PTO were almost all phased out. Most of that stuff was 70's and early 80's. By '85-'86 most all sub compacts had went to 540.

Andy, I'm not sure what you mean by you can reverse rotation of a tiller.... First off, you would have to change all the tines. Second, it takes WAY more power to run them in reverse as opposed to forward. If tried to run them reverse till, I don't think you'd have enough power.

Drive yoke's can be changed..... if you can find the male yoke.

The 300 series and 420-430 Deere, Massey, Snapper and Wheel Donkeys all used the clockwise 2000 rpm in the rear. Very early 3000 series Cubs even had a rear 2000 rpm option. Keep looking Andy. How's the rear pto coming along? IIRC Deere started using the 540 pto after they stopped production of the 430 and all the other manufacturers threw the towel in cause there was more demand for belt drive lawn mowers.

Still just an idea. I was thinking that "reversible" meant adjust the gear box to switch the drive cog from the top gear to the bottom gear thus changing the rotation. I didn't pursue it any further since my recent acquisition but I may still be interested in the mower so that I'm not tempted to use the NOS.

Again, I feel all this stuff should be considered "novelty" items that aren't meant to take the place of big, 30, 40, 50 horse stuff. Just collect it, enjoy it, and maybe carefully get it a little dirty once in a while.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
