That's a good way to get people to come get things. I had my grandfathers old homemade trailer that had rotten wood and rotten tires, that my grandmother said could stay at my house and share it with my uncle who also used it. I had it for a couple years, and decided to put new wood on it and replaced the tires. My uncle came and got it to use to get some firewood with it and I haven't seen it since... and that was 10 years ago.

I wouldn't really care, if it wasn't for the fact that he got the tractor off of me. He begged and begged for it. I really didn't want to part with it at the time. Honestly, it's not near as nice as it had been. It's been sitting outside with the hoods off of it for over a year now. Only had like 400 hours on it I think, and it had never sat outside. Looked brand new when I got it! (Governor gear fell out of it IIRC. Either way, had a blown engine when I got it.) Like I stated earlier, I have half a mind to put it together and use it myself! I would just like to see him actually come and get it, and actually finish it. He got it off of me like 7 years ago. |

I'm currently in negotiations for this project. The guy took over a relatives estate and he doesn't know whats wrong with the engine. I offered $150 and he's going to think about it. Yes, I'm fully aware the engine isn't mounted in and it's facing the wrong direction.

I paid $40 for that 1710 when I got it. They priced it, not me. Asked what they wanted, and I gladly paid the asking price! Got a nice 44" deck with it too! I see the "engine problem"...... it isn't connected! Hope you get it! |

I think it was more of a candle than a fire. Tractor is still sitting here..... Gonna be a rust bucked or faded to white before it gets fixed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
