Ok, so after just a few minuets in the shop tonight I slammed my thumb squarely with a hammer, blood everywhere. Needless to say I didn't get much done, but I DID take some pictures.

Like ironman said... you can run just about any oil you want.. and you will get tons of different opinions on that.. but IH spec for a gear drive is either SAE 30 motor oil or Hytran if you want the factory's opinion..
In south GA we have always run 90 wt gear oil.. but it rarely gets cold here...

Sorry you banged your finger!! that makes me hurt thinking about it!

SAE 30 sounds better than what came out of it, stuff would barely run out the drain...

I hate it when that happens. Seems I skin a knuckle, cut a finger, or get a splinter just about every time I'm in the shop working on stuff. I try to take my time and think ahead when doing stuff, but it still happens. My hands are constantly in a state of moderate damage. And I'm constantly stealing my wife's hand cream or they'd be split all to heck from the winter weather as well.

Despite my injured hand, I manged to paint the bulkhead (or whatever you want to call it), and I finally got all the new hardware for the front end so I put that on as well.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
