The pullies should be tipped towards each
other in the bottom. I just checked on my 73.

So what have other people done to fix those brackets after they wear out? Would anyone have a detailed pic or drawing of the brackets so i could just make new ones?

I know my brackets are getting egg shaped holes. So I'm taking the brackets to a weld shop. I use to work at gonna use the water jet to cut out new ones.at some point this summer

on my 127 with 42" deck the pulley on the wide bracket is perpendicular and square with the pivot shaft.
The sprung pulley is tilted in maybe 4 or 5 degrees at the bottom and also twisted to the outside by 4 to 5 degrees.

The manual also shows the rear rockshaft brackets in the forward holes whereas on mine it is working with them in the rearward holes.

Also, in your last pic above, it looks like the top of the rockshaft "U" bar (whatever it is called) has been worn like maybe the top outer edge was riding on the bottom of the rockshaft for some time ?

Someone has modified that setup, I've never seen one with grease fittings or locking collars.

yeah it was worn so I welded on it to fill it back in.

Yep that was me, I was hellbent on that setup not wearing out again so I went overboard with the grease fittings. I was hoping I could use the same mule drive for a tiller.

Has anyone had any dealings with a Mark Hellrung? I see he has an add at the top of the page dealing in reproduction of NLA parts. I e-mailed hime several days ago inquiring about new idler pulley brackets but I haven't heard anything back
