According the the Fram site, it was designed for "engine oils", says NOTHING about hydraulic fluids.

I'm curious, I've sent the following message to Fram's Customer Support. I'll post results if/when I get any...
"My question is about your filter PH2844. Your web page for this filter gives comparison information for filters such as Cub Cadet 923-3014, NAPA FIL-1410, WIX 51410, and others which are hydraulic filters for garden tractor transmissions. But your product description for the PH 2844 says "Designed for use with conventional oil" Is the PH 2844 a hydraulic oil filter or a motor oil filter? Thank you.

I can't say it any other way.

Default filter

Roland, I did not think to look at your filter chart. I was surprised to see two filters . I have already purchased the 1084 filter. My question is should I buy the 1410 and use it or will the 1084 be OK to use. Neither of my tractors will be doing any heavy use other than snow blowing. Thanks all for your help and have a great day.
Bob

I would return the filter you have if you can and get the correct one. I once used the wrong filter simply because it fit and it gave me trouble until I put the correct one on.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
