That's really not that bad looking. Looks like it was a definite worker and the guy kept making repairs. I'm thinking you have 2 feet of plug wire more than you need. Is that a newer, homemade wiring harness I see?

Well it took me for a short little ride today... un-intentionally.... I pulled the carb and tank for cleaning, got the carb back on and a substitute plastic gas tank, and fired it up, let it sit idling while I aired up the tires, checked if the hydro was in neutral and it appeared to be... so I release the hydro relief lever.... and it fn takes off without me headed for the shop door. LOL I jumped on and pulled the hydro lever down but that only slowed it down a little... so I went for a short ride with no neutral or reverse... but hey... it moves.

All the extra wires hanging off it are for lights(one front, one rear) installed by the PO, and yes the plug wire is probably at least 18 inches long, steering is tough but I havent greased anything or even cleaned it up yet, someone has attempted to repair the hood at the hinge bolts but its not pretty, effective tho. Choke cable is rusted tight, PTO probably needs a rebuild because its rattlin alot, brake pedal didnt seem to have any effect.

Overall rough but certainly repairable.

Check the basket pulley to make sure it's tight, if it's loose it will rattle pretty bad.

Think I still have a new pto disc and a few other bits that Curtis gave me so I'll likely rebuild it... but not this week, for now I just wanted to know what I had, it seems to be a good project but it does need to be gone thru top to bottom, front to back. I have a NF deck and lift mech I can add to it but that needs the same treatment.

Along with the 127 there was a JD314 that I'd like to try getting started aswell, and it looks just as bad. I like to know which tractors run before I put them in the back shop.

Looks like the same issues with the 126 I have but it sounds like you got most of the bugs worked out on your freebie.
